{"id":173,"date":"2018-03-18T23:43:43","date_gmt":"2018-03-19T03:13:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gfwscouting.ca\/adventure\/?p=173"},"modified":"2018-03-18T23:43:43","modified_gmt":"2018-03-19T03:13:43","slug":"europe-leadership-team-interviews","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gfwscouting.ca\/adventure\/?p=173","title":{"rendered":"Europe Leadership Team Interviews"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Tuesday we take the next step to building our youth leadership team for our 2019 Adventure to Europe!\u00a0 Youth that were ranked highly by their peers as well as youth that requested a leadership position are invited to attend a panel discussion with our Europe Leadership Selection Committee.\u00a0 Youth Leadership candidates will meet with the selection committee in a group of 4-5.\u00a0 This is less an interview than it is a discussion group where we all work together to build the best possible leadership team for Europe.\u00a0 Candidates will be asked a series of questions that will focus mainly on their past experiences and leadership qualities.\u00a0 Candidates will also be asked why you want the position, and who you would likely choose as your assistant leader.<\/p>\n<p>The Selection Committee members will\u00a0take notes as to each candidates strengths in the various criteria we are looking for in each position.\u00a0 After the discussion panels are over, the Selection Team will work together to build a consensus on our Leadership Team &#8211;\u00a0<strong>if you were selected for a position, you will know by Wednesday morning \ud83d\ude42<\/strong>\u00a0 Of course, if you are selected you do NOT have to accept the position.\u00a0 You can think on it for a few days if needed, but the sooner we have our team in place the better.<\/p>\n<p>The criteria that the team is looking for includes\u00a0<em>(but is not limited too)<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>All Positions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>F.A.S.T. and\/or F.O.C.U.S. trained<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to lead<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Skilled at resolving conflict within their team<\/li>\n<li>Past experience as a patrol leader or an expedition leader is an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Patrol Leaders<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous experience leading a patrol at camp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Expedition Leader &#8211; Ireland<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent time management skills<\/li>\n<li>Energy and enthusiasm<\/li>\n<li>Ability to motivate team members<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Expedition Leader &#8211; Switzerland<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Skilled at making use of people resources (knowing your team&#8217;s strengths and using them)<\/li>\n<li>Delegation skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Expedition Leader &#8211;
